A provider of specialist care services across Birmingham and the West Midlands has been sold to a nationwide home care provider.

Midlands law firm Wright Hassall acted for the owners of Midway Care Group, undertaking legal work ahead of its sale to City & County Healthcare Group.

Midway Care Group, which is based in Birmingham, provides services for people with learning disabilities who may also have additional needs.

The company also works with Clinical Commissioning Groups and Local Authorities across the West Midlands, including Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Solihull and Birmingham.

The group currently delivers care and support to around 190 clients across 12 residential sites and over 50 supported living locations.

New owners City & County Healthcare Group are a leading provider of community homecare in the UK.

Wright Hassall’s Robert Lee, who is one of the partners in the firm’s corporate law group and helped facilitate the deal, said: “Midway Care Group has built a strong reputation within the West Midlands, providing specialised residential and transitional services to individuals with learning disabilities.

“Its sale will enable it to form part of the wider City & County Healthcare Group, ensuring a continued high quality of care as it looks to develop and improve its home care service.

“This sale has been a great team effort from Wright Hassall’s corporate, commercial property and employment departments and we are pleased to be involved in the evolution of a company which provides such vital community services.”

The acquisition of Midway Care Group is consistent with City & County’s strategy to acquire community care businesses across all types of homecare.

The existing management team of the Midway Care Group will continue to operate as it does currently.
