The managing director of a group of boutique hotels based in Warwickshire has been appointed as the new chairman of a leading industry membership body.

Mark Chambers has taken the reins at Pride of Britain Hotels – a carefully curated collection of the finest independent hotels around the British Isles.

Chambers is the Group Managing Director of Stratford-upon-Avon-based The Eden Hotel Collection, which includes the town’s The Arden Hotel, Mallory Court Hotel and Spa in Leamington, Brockencote Hall Hotel in Kidderminster, The Greenway Hotel and Spa in Cheltenham, and Bovey Castle in Devon.

He takes over from Sue Williams, Managing Director of Whatley Manor, and will work closely with the Pride of Britain Hotels’ senior leadership team and oversee the Board members, made up of leading hoteliers.

Chambers said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chairman of Pride of Britain Hotels.

“It is such an exciting time for the consortium with much to be positive about, and I am confident of and very much looking forward to a successful 2023.

“Early next year we have some exciting news that will be sure to elevate the brand, as well as increase the profile of our collection to consumers and fellow hoteliers.

“Whilst there are many positive projects and objectives on our agenda, I also recognise we have tough times ahead for our industry and I pledge to ensure we are constantly working closely with all stakeholders to support our members as best we can through these uncertain times.

“My predecessor Sue successfully oversaw the transition and introduction of a new CEO, as well as navigated us through the restart following Covid, and on behalf of the board and our members, I thank her for her excellent stewardship over the past two years.”

Pride of Britain Hotels’ CEO Kalindi Juneja added: “Mark Chambers has a remarkable drive for business with well thought out strategy and long-term vision.

“He is currently our longest-serving board member and brings profound context to every debate. I am very excited to be working closely with him over the next two years as we continue to drive the brand and inspire consumers with our collection of leading, unique British hotels.”
