PUPILS from St Matthew’s C of E Primary School have officially been appointed “Wild Walkers” after celebrating the opening of one of Lovell Homes’ latest developments located in Donnington Wood, Telford.

The 31 students explored the green spaces neighbouring the new Wild Walk community equipped with a “Wild Walker” adventurer kit. Armed with a specially created checklist, they were able to identify the beautiful flowers and wildlife at Granville Country Park, which is adjacent to the new, sustainability driven development.

Wild Walk offers a range of stunning two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses starting from £266,950, all within a ten-minute drive to Telford town centre and a one-hour drive from Birmingham. In addition to the properties available to purchase from Lovell Homes, the wider community will include a mix of private and affordable rentals and rent to buy properties as well as dementia care and supported living facilities.

Lisa Preston, sales director at Lovell Homes, said: “Location is so important when looking for a new home, so recruiting a team of ‘Wild Walkers’ seemed like a great way to highlight the fantastic green area surrounding this new community.

“Wild Walk is leading the way in terms of creating sustainable homes for the borough and it’s great to also celebrate some of the rare wildlife and fauna that Granville Country Park boasts. Our marketing suite team is looking forward to making many more visitors official ‘Wild Walkers’ with our checklist now available for any families looking to visit and get to know the surrounding area that little bit better.”

The development includes some of the borough’s most carbon efficient homes with a number of plots exceeding current building regulations through the inclusion of PV technology throughout to generate electricity and hot water, wastewater heat recovery systems, electric car charging points, and upgraded fabric in the walls, flooring, and roofing.

The development is a joint partnership between Lovell, Telford & Wrekin council, Nuplace Ltd – the council’s wholly owned housing company, and The Wrekin Housing Group.
