Ahead of Birmingham Tech Week, a fast-growing Solihull technology company is set to play a key role in the proceedings with a focus on diversity and inclusion.

Wise, located in Solihull town centre, will be playing a key role in Birmingham Tech Week, which is the UK’s largest regional technology festival, and takes place between the 10-14 October.

As sponsors of Digital Skills Day on the 13 October, Wise will be delivering an expert presentation on how firms can scale-up with technology talent in the Midlands, featuring Wise Chief Product and Technology Officer James Orton Hannah Jarrad, Head of People and Culture.

Following this, there will also be a Women in Tech roundtable looking at how businesses and individuals can make changes to help address the gender imbalance currently seen throughout the UK technology industry. Finally, the day will be wrapped up with ‘Talk, Tech & Tipple’, an evening drinks event in collaboration with School of Code at The Button Factory in the Jewellery Quarter.

James Orton, CPTO at Wise, said: “The growth in Birmingham’s technology sector over recent years is truly impressive and we’re excited to see all of this come together at this year’s Birmingham Tech Week.

“As a local technology business, we’re incredibly excited to be sponsoring the event too. As our latest ‘Great Place to Work’ ranking has shown, we’re no strangers to attracting top talent to the business so we hope our experience will benefit everyone in attendance.

“Gender equality in tech is also something we’re passionate about, so it’ll be great to share our insights and we’re looking forward to hear from so many industry leaders across the entire week.”
