A Stratford-upon-Avon housebuilder is helping a local charity to support community members in crisis.

Redrow Midlands, currently building at Poets Grange, on Station Road, has donated £750 to Stratford-upon-Avon Food Bank as part of its Community Fund initiative.

The fund, which was launched last year, provides organisations in the region with donations to help them thrive, with local causes encouraged to apply for their share of a £10,000 pot.

Operating for over ten years, Stratford-Upon-Avon Food Bank has grown rapidly, providing more than 5,200 three-day emergency food parcels in 2023 alone. Supported entirely by donations and support from churches, businesses and individuals who regularly donate food, and help from professionals in the community, including GP surgeries, mental health services and schools, who are able to identify and refer those in crisis to be issued a food bank voucher.

Sarah Crompton, from Stratford-upon-Avon Foodbank, said: “We are incredibly grateful for Redrow Midlands’ generous donation. These funds will make a huge difference to the foodbank, as we use the funds to increase the skillsets of our volunteers through training, which will enable us to offer further support to local people.”

Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director at Redrow Midlands, commented: “We are thrilled to be supporting Stratford-upon-Avon Food Bank, a thoroughly deserving local charity, as we continue to help build thriving communities through our Community Fund initiative.

“Here at Redrow Midlands, we are proud to support many incredible organisations working extremely hard to tackle poverty in the area. We hope that this donation makes a big difference to the amount of food parcels that can be provided to those in need in the coming months.”
