Limited edition prints from a Much Wenlock artist will decorate the reception of a local health centre this festive season.

Shelley Wingrove, of Little Black Mare, creates hand cut lino prints, collagraphs and etchings, all of which are inspired by and celebrate the Shropshire countryside and its Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. And a selection of her works will be available to view and purchase at The Natural Health Centre in Shrewsbury until the end of February 2023.

Shelley said, “Nature and intricate detailing are key focuses of mine, and feature heavily throughout my pieces. In the local Shropshire countryside, I love to watch the light play on the trees and in the fields. I capture these moments in my sketchbook before taking them back to my studio to bring them to life. I also love to collect souvenirs – perhaps a leaf or some other treasure – to spark inspiration, and bring me back to that scene.”

The Natural Health Centre was established in 1990, and since then has supported over 26,000 individuals from Shropshire and Mid-Wales with integrated health care, plus natural and holistic therapies such as Acupuncture, Reflexology, Massage, Osteopathy, and Medicinal Herbalism. Each month, they care for over 1,000 individuals – adults, children and babies – and many referrals are made into them by NHS professionals.

“As an advocate for the power of natural and holistic therapies myself, I was thrilled to be invited to display my artwork within The Natural Health Centre in Shrewsbury,” Shelley continued.

“I hope that they bring some joy and pleasure to those in the waiting room, as they have to me throughout their planning, designing and creating stages.”

Simon Hooker, Partner at The Natural Health Centre added, “We’re all very excited to have Shelley exhibiting her beautiful and bespoke artwork with us, which focuses on the incredible beauty of Shropshire. It’s a real joy to have them lining the walls, brightening up our reception area, and being shared with our patients for all to enjoy.”
