Staff at a Birmingham-headquartered recruitment firm have signed up to a new charity initiative which will see £250 being donated each month to support a variety of good causes.

Over 50 employees at The Jarell Group have pledged £5 from their monthly pay packets which will see the Church Street-based company naming a new charity every month where the £250 will be directed to.

The new initiative, led by Group Commercial Director James Cronin, kicked off last month with the donation of over 200 Easter Eggs to foodbanks in Birmingham and Worcester.

The company has already announced that Midlands charity Transforming Communities will be the beneficiary for May with the Group helping to support its growing monthly foodbank event in Wolverhampton. Funds in June will be going to the British Red Cross and July is earmarked for the charity, Cancer Research.

James Cronin said: “As a business we have always done lots of fundraising but this new initiative takes things a step further as it means we can support a different cause every month.

“The generous donations for many of our staff are making it happen and the idea has created a real sense of ownership about which causes to support and get involved with. More than anything, it’s about doing our bit to help those in need and to support charities and good causes who desperately crave donations.

“We’ve hopefully helped put smiles on the faces of children through our Easter Egg giving and I hope we can make a difference in the coming months for thousands more people.”

Based in Birmingham, and with additional offices in London, Leeds, Worcester, Nottingham, York and Walsall, The Jarell Group was founded nearly 30 years ago and has since gone on to become a trusted full and part time workforce solutions provider for hundreds of businesses across the UK.
