Hundreds of local jobs will be up for grabs at Blaby District Council’s Job Fair at their Narborough offices on Monday 10 October.

Businesses will be highlighting their vacancies and jobseekers of all ages will be able to speak to company representatives, find out more information and get expert help at the event, taking place from 3pm-6pm.
The Job Fair is being hosted by the Council at its Narborough-based offices on Desford Road, LE19 2EP. There’s free parking on site and the offices are a short walk from Narborough Railway Station. Bus services also stop close by.

The event is also an ideal opportunity for those who have just received their A-Level or GCSE results to come along and find out about trainee positions as well as apprenticeships.

Businesses attending the Job Fair include the Marriott Hotel, who have a mix of full and part time opportunities across their restaurant, banqueting, kitchen and maintenance teams.

With only a few months to go before the HMP Fosse Way becomes operational, Serco have vacancies ranging from Prison Custody Officers, Administrators and Psychologists to Chefs, Facilities Management and Trades.
Representatives from Blaby District Council will also have the latest opportunities with the Council, and the benefits of working in local government. Current vacancies include Casual District Cleansing Operatives and an Accountancy Assistant.

Barnardo’s are recruiting for a Children’s Residential Home opening soon, with 25 full-time permanent vacancies available. A number of nursery and social care positions will also be on offer, as well as the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.

Employment support is also a big part of the Jobs Fair, with the National Careers Service offering free careers advice and support into employment including help with C.V.s, courses, career planning, interview preparation and anything related to getting ready to step into employment. Work Live Leicestershire, which helps residents living in rural areas access employment, training and education.

The Prince’s Trust can help with free courses, grants and mentoring opportunities to inspire young people to build their confidence and start a career and the Department of Work and Pensions will also be attending.
