Vacancies include:
● Health and Fitness Coaches
● Chef
● Kitchen Porter
● Apprentice Nursery Cook
● Café and Events Assistant
● Children’s Residential Care, Deputy Manager and Team Leader
● Children’s Residential Care, Residential Care Worker.
The YMCA has already created more than 35 new job roles at the Community & Activity Village this year, as well as roles in two children’s residential care home in Newark, alongside ongoing opportunities for volunteers to work with the charity on a voluntary basis.
It is also looking for more volunteers to give a few hours of their time per week to the Y Girls mentor scheme, which aims to empower girls aged 9-14 through one-to-one mentoring, and its Street Pastor programme, which supports vulnerable adults in Nottingham City Centre.
Todd Cauthorn, Executive Director, YMCA Newark & Sherwood, said: “The YMCA is one of the most rewarding employers in the region, with a unique culture that runs throughout every part of the organisation. Our brand-new Community & Activity Village is one of the most exciting developments that the area has seen, and we have some incredible job opportunities for people to join us in this new venture.
“As well as giving back to the local community with the services we offer, we are proud to be creating so many new jobs for people in the region, especially in the current climate when we know so many households are struggling with the rising cost of living.
“Working with the YMCA not only offers financial stability, but it also gives our employees and volunteers a huge sense of pride, knowing that they are making a difference to the lives of young adults. We all share the same purpose and vision, and we are bound by our shared goals, creating a unique team culture that you won’t find anywhere else.”
Speaking about the roles available at the gym, Nathaniel Soderberg, Gym Manager and Fitness Specialist, said: “We have a unique way of approaching fitness within our gym. We’re trying to educate people to have an overall better way of living, not just physically but mentally too. It’s a much more collaborative approach and we are looking to recruit health and fitness coaches whose skills align with what we want to deliver and who will embrace this incredible opportunity to change people’s lives for the better.”
