McPhillips are delighted to welcome the new intake for this year’s McPhillips Apprenticeship Programme. In total they received sixty applications, of which 30 were interviewed before the final 8 were carefully chosen.

All of the new apprentices are aged between 16 and 17 years old. Over the next 2 years, each apprentice will combine their onsite work with McPhillips in tandem with Telford College, attending 1 week per month towards attaining NVQ level 2 in Construction Operations.

The Apprenticeship Programme has been running since 1995. McPhillips’ apprentices are built from the ground up, gaining a unique set of practical skills developed by the company through diverse experience of civil engineering and building contracts.

Stuart Bishop is SHEQ Manager at McPhillips who commented… “Our new apprentices have been placed into suitable civil engineering teams and will begin their training. We hope they go on to become future Foremen, Engineers, Machine Operators or whatever they enjoy the most. Career progression is a big part of McPhillips, we will give each apprentice our full support and I hope they make the most of it.”
