Kidderminster, Worcestershire — A brand-new veterinary practice is set to open its doors in Kidderminster this November, offering primary care services for small animals in the local area. Named Maggie and Marlow, the new facility aims to create a welcoming and calming environment for pets and their owners.

The practice has been thoughtfully designed with separate waiting areas for cats and dogs to ensure a stress-free experience. Comfortable consultation rooms provide patients and their owners with the privacy and space they need during visits.

Beyond in-person consultations, Maggie and Marlow offers a digital edge with a free 24/7 app. Clients can access expert advice from qualified vets, read customized articles, and book appointments online, making pet care even more accessible.

Part of the veterinary group Linnaeus, which has invested £1.5 million into the project, the practice is set to employ a local team, creating eight new jobs initially, with more to follow as the practice grows.

“We are so excited to introduce Maggie and Marlow to Kidderminster, and are planning to offer high quality, accessible, and personalised care to pets and their owners in the area,” said David Walker, Chief Medical Officer at Linnaeus.

Discussing the practice’s name, Walker added, “We thought long and hard about the right name for the practice and listened to a range of feedback from pet owners. Maggie represents the owners who are devoted to their animals – while Marlow is the pet who loves them back. As pet owners ourselves, we understand the importance and strength of the bond between animals and their families, which is something we want to support and celebrate in the local community.”

Located at Prospect House in Lion Square, central Kidderminster, Maggie and Marlow incorporates sustainability into its design. The facility features recyclable vinyl flooring, ceiling tiles, acoustic panels, and energy-efficient LED lighting throughout. Air source heat pumps have been installed to provide heating and cooling, with the added benefit of circulating fresh air. The ventilation systems can be turned off in unused areas to minimize energy consumption.

The practice’s clinical team will have access to five consultation rooms and a wide range of facilities, including state-of-the-art dental equipment, x-ray and ultrasound scanning suites, a laboratory, and two surgical theatres.

“Preventive care is really important to the wellbeing of our pets, which can help to reduce the need for urgent care and possibly the need for more advanced veterinary treatment,” Walker emphasized. “At Maggie and Marlow, the team will offer a variety of services, including weight clinics and dental care, alongside value-for-money pet health plans.”

With its thoughtful design, advanced facilities, and commitment to pet wellness, Maggie and Marlow aims to become a trusted resource for pet owners in the Kidderminster community.
