Loughborough-based startup Altitude Marketing Ltd has been named as the Marketing, Advertising and PR startup of the year at the Midlands StartUp Awards 2024.

Laura King-Berry and Tom Bates founded Altitude Marketing Ltd. in 2022. As a full-service marketing agency, Altitude offers a comprehensive suite of services, including—but not limited to—social media management, public relations, advertising, branding, SEO optimisation, website development, and production.

Laura expressed her excitement about the agency’s first award win, explaining:

“We’ve been on an incredible journey since Tom and I founded the agency two years ago, and being recognised at this scale, especially with this award, means the world to me and the team. I’m amazed at what we’ve achieved. Winning this award is not just validation but a testament that we’re doing the right thing and heading in the right direction. It’s just the motivation we needed to keep moving forward, striving for even more.”

Tom expanded on this, saying:

“Becoming an award-winning agency was high on the agenda for me and Laura this year to ensure the team is properly recognised for the work they do daily. I’m so proud of the Altitude team for securing this recognition for us, which is an incredible first award win that means the world to us. We have a big vision to improve the digital marketing industry, which helps us get another step closer.”

The UK StartUp Awards were established to highlight the success of startups across ten UK nations and regions, including the Midlands, and to celebrate the achievements of entrepreneurs in all sectors of the economy.

Over 114,000 new firms were created in the Midlands in 2023. According to Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, creator of the awards, entrepreneurs are growing and are important to the regional economy.

He said:

“Start-ups are the life of any economy, and that is especially true in the Midlands, where new businesses contribute to job creation, innovation, and prosperity across this entrepreneurial region. It’s been an honour and a pleasure to read the stories of those founders who have spotted the opportunity and taken the risk to launch their own venture. All of the winners have demonstrated that they deserve to win their categories, and I’m looking forward to having the ‘best of the best’ from the Midlands competing at the UK final later this year”

As a regional winner in their category, Altitude Marketing will now progress to the UK Startup Awards final being held at Ideas Fest on September 12th, dubbed ‘the Glastonbury for Entrepreneurs’.
