A new development of 48 homes is taking shape in Clayton, with the ‘topping out’ of the first property now complete.

Marking a significant construction milestone, multi award-winning housebuilder, Lioncourt Homes, has completed the external structure of what will be the show home at its Westlands View development, located off Clayton Road, less than two miles from Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre.

Danny Tunstall, Construction Director at Lioncourt Homes, said: “Topping out is such an exciting time on a development as it celebrates the roof and final bricks being put into place. For local residents and potential new homeowners, this is the first time they can actually see the design and quality of our homes, rather than relying on drawings.

“It’s incredibly rewarding for the site team to see the homes take shape after months of hard work in ground preparations, demolition of the derelict hotel that was located on the site and building the external structure. We’re now counting down to opening the doors to our show home after Christmas.”

The internal fit out of the show home – a four bedroom, ‘Linden’ house type – is now underway, ready for its opening in the New Year.

Alongside the show home, Lioncourt Homes is building two, three, four and five bedroom homes at Westlands View in a variety of house styles, including detached, semi-detached and terraced properties.

Danny continues: “To ensure we’re delivering the best possible homes at Westlands View, we’ve recently amended our plans slightly. Having now started on site, we feel that, by re-modelling the gardens, we can maximise the plots for future homeowners. The approved plot levels will remain the same, retaining the same amount of privacy for existing residents, however some of the gardens belonging to our new homes will now be terraced rather than sloped – something that we feel will be much more beneficial.

“At every stage – whether it’s design, build or sales – our customers are at the heart of all our decisions. By making these changes, we are passionate that we are delivering homes of the highest design and quality at Westlands View, whilst being sympathetic to our local surroundings and existing neighbours.”

Sustainability is at the heart of Westlands View, with all the new properties benefiting from solar panels, electric car charging points and an A rated energy performance. In addition to the new homes, Lioncourt Homes will be retaining some protected green areas on site with a number of bat and bird boxes introduced to help encourage new habitats for local wildlife. Where possible, the housebuilder will also be retaining existing mature trees and hedgerows.

The new homes at Westlands View are due to be released for sale in January, with prices starting from around £249, 995.

The first residents are expected to move into their new homes in spring 2024.
