A new initiative to help the region’s hospitality sector is to be launched by Andy Street the Mayor of the West Midlands and Chair of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) at Opheem restaurant, Birmingham
He will be unveiling a new working group of key local employers and training providers.
Headed up by University College Birmingham the group aims to tackle the jobs and skills issues facing the hospitality sector.
Critically acclaimed chef patrons Aktar Islam (Opheem) Glynn Purnell (Purnell’s) and Alex Claridge (The Wilderness) have kindly donated their time to inspire a group of young, local job seekers with advice, tips and insights into their careers.
The floor will be open for a discussion on vacancies, training and support Combined with an audience of invited guests including:
- Malmaison Hotels
- the Director General of the Department of Work and Pensions
- Downtown in Business.
