Invest Dudley is heading out to MIPIM next week with a packed agenda of presentations including a signature event on Thursday 17 March, that has seen nearly 70 people signed up to attend.

Key investment houses, developers and supply chain partners will be amongst the capacity audience, at Dudley’s ‘The Time is Now’ event at the Radisson Blu 1835 Hotel.

The region is keen to outline its ambitions to be a destination of choice, based around the aspirations in its Dudley Vision 2030 plan.

Work has already started on realising these aspirations and a £1 billion regeneration programme comprising a mix of public and private sector investment, is driving forward the growth of Dudley at an exponential rate.

Dudley has seen recent public funding successes with Get Britain Building, the Towns Fund and Future High Street Funding, and these demonstrate the Government’s confidence in the area as an investable proposition. A recently submitted bid to the Government could also see Dudley become the country’s next city, if chosen.

All this means that there is wealth of investment, development and supply chain prospects across a succession of new and existing regeneration projects, ranging from transport and leisure, to education and residential developments.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of the Council (pictured right) who will be at MIPIM said, “Dudley’s £1 billion transformation programme is only the start. We are going to MIPIM because we are committed to attracting further public and private sector investment – both at the Expo and back in the UK, and we are looking for like-minded partners with whom we can forge the next chapter of Dudley together.”

Also flying the flag for Dudley at MIPIM is cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise, Councillor Simon Phipps (pictured left), who added, “Dudley is open for business and we want to engage with companies who can also bring new development proposals to the table. We are definitely keen to hear new ideas, and as a proactive local authority, we will do all we can to support the right type of developments for Dudley.”

Located just some ten miles west of Birmingham, Dudley is perfectly positioned in the heart of the country, with excellent road, rail and air links connecting to more than 400 million people across Europe. A new metro extension from Wednesbury to Brierley Hill will also soon link Birmingham in under 40 minutes – and is likely to bring even more growth opportunities.

Multiple strategic development sites and exciting new ambitions for the town centre and wider area will be shared at MIPIM at Invest Dudley’s headline event and during pop-up presentations at Dudley’s stand (number P-1. J2) in Le Palais des Festivals.

Although the headline event is now at capacity, anyone with a pass to the Palais is welcome to come along to the pop-up presentations to hear what Dudley has to say. More details are available on the website www.investdudley.co.uk/at-mipim
