Leading housebuilder David Wilson Homes is set to contribute more than £265,200 towards local infrastructure and public services as part of the planning agreement for a brand-new housing development in Brinsley.

The 115-home development, named Old Mill Farm, which is set to launch this Saturday 2nd July, will consist of a mix of one to five bedroom homes upon completion, alongside 35 affordable properties allocated for local people.

As part of the agreement for the new development, David Wilson Homes will contribute more than £95,900 towards the creation of off-site public open space, and over £75,400 towards its maintenance.

The developer is also set to contribute funding towards local bus stops, sustainable travel and health care by providing more than £93,900 million towards facility improvements.

Mark Cotes, Managing Director for David Wilson Homes North Midlands, said: “The funding boost we are providing to Broxtowe Borough Council for our Old Mill Farm development will enable substantial improvements to be made to public facilities and services used by the people of Brinsley and its surrounding areas.

“As well as direct funding as part of our planning agreement for the new homes, the development will also deliver additional benefits to local economy through job creation, and provide greater support to local businesses from new residents moving into the new properties.”

A sales office is set to open at the development off Cordy Lane, as part of an official launch taking place on Saturday 2nd July. The doors are being opened to the three bedroom Greenwood and Hadley style properties, both of which are ideal for first time buyers and growing families.

Jan Ruston, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes North Midlands, said: “With our new sales office opening this weekend, we are very much looking forward to welcoming more people to this exciting new community.

“We’d strongly advise any interested house-hunters to get in touch with our Sales Advisers to find out more about the excellent variety of new homes we have available.”
