International industrial supplies distributor Cromwell, based in Wigston, will be opening its doors to the public this Thursday 7 July in celebration of National Manufacturing Day.

The open day will offer a rare opportunity for the community to discover the inner workings of the Cromwell World Distribution Centre and HQ in Wigston, with the chance to tour the warehouse, see bestselling products, and find out more about becoming part of the Cromwell team.

2021 saw Cromwell recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces by leading workplace recognition programme Great Place to Work, and was ranked at 26 on the Glassdoor Best Places to Work 2021 list.

Whatever your age or skillset, the open day will allow anyone considering a career in the manufacturing sector to discuss the company’s operations and hear more about the latest employment opportunities.
Elaine Barnes, Chief Customer Officer at Cromwell said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the public this week in celebration of National Manufacturing Day.

“Cromwell has been part of the Wigston community for many years, employing generations of local people throughout our 50 plus years of operation. And so, inviting local residents to see what we do here is an exciting opportunity for us and we hope to see lots of our neighbours on the day. We are very proud to be part of the Wigston, and Leicestershire, community and look forward to sharing the secrets to our success while celebrating our staff and our industry.

“Occasionally we look to welcome new colleagues to the business, to add to our already very talented, hard-working and loyal team who are the key to our success. Our open day is the perfect opportunity for anyone considering a career in manufacturing to hear more about what it is like to work at Cromwell. Whether you are already working, considering a career change, or a school leaver at the beginning of your career, we’d love for you to join us on the day.

“Representatives from Oadby and Wigston Council, Wigston Academies Trust, and DWP Jobcentre Leicester will also be joining us. We’d encourage anyone else working in the employment, education and skills arenas to come along on the day and learn more about Cromwell.”

Cromwell’s National Manufacturing Day sessions will last for 90 mins and run between 9.30am and 3.30pm on 7th July 2022 at Cromwell’s World Distribution Centre and HQ, 65 Chartwell Drive, Wigston.

Free parking is available on site. All attendees will be entered into a prize draw to win a Cromwell tool hamper. For more information and to register for a session visit
