Niglon’s newest recruit has been training hard in and out of work.

As well as being the first member of the Niglon Academy, taking on a sales role looking after wholesalers in the North East, Connor Corbett is also getting ready for the Manchester Marathon.
Taking place in April, the 26.2 run will be the first time Connor has run a marathon – and he’s aiming to raise £400 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The charity works to ensure no one faces dementia alone, fight for more research and funding, and campaign for services to be available for anyone who needs them. It’s estimated within the next two years, there will be a million people living with the disease in the UK.

Barnsley-based Connor says: “I signed up for the Manchester Marathon in September 2022, training started off being really tough as any training is. As I got a few months into training, I started enjoying it and pushing myself further and further each day, and on a personal level feeling better for it!

“Alzheimer’s Society is something close to my heart, as both my grandparents and my wife’s grandparents suffered with it. They did so much for us when we were kids, so running the marathon and raising as much as I could would be great for the charity, and my way of giving something back.”

Niglon Director Oliver Hinley added: “We are really proud of Connor and the whole team is behind him, hoping he raises as much money as possible for this extremely worthy charity.
“Training for a marathon and taking on a new career are both extremely big commitments, so a huge pat on the back to Connor for doing both at the same time so wonderfully!”
