A kind-hearted estate agents has been supporting several local charities as part of its new take on festive activities.
Berriman Eaton, which has offices in Bridgnorth, Tettenhall, Wombourne and Worcestershire, wanted to give something back to the communities it operates in, so invited all its staff to take part in a reverse advent calendar.
Every employee was encouraged to volunteer, raise money, or reach out to local groups to see how they could help, with nearly 24 different activities already completed.
This has included more than £5,000 in donations, Directors taking part in charity collection sleigh rides and Managing Director Andy Roberts preparing meals at Friends of Di’s kitchen in Wolverhampton.
Caroline Eaton, Director of Berriman Eaton, commented: “The cost-of-living crisis is impacting so many people and we wanted to turn the traditional advent calendar approach on its head, by encouraging our staff to support charities or community groups that were close to their heart.
“The response was fantastic with so much money raised and donated to causes, including Together at Christmas (which makes sure nobody celebrates the festive period alone), Bridgnorth Food Bank, Cash for Kids and West Midlands Air Ambulance.
“Everyone got behind the campaign and it was fantastic to see new, young members of our team encouraging friends and family to help with clothes and food donations to help our local charities this Christmas”.
She went on to add: “Part of our job is to understand communities, in order to sell and rent homes within them, so it felt right to giving something back.
“The reverse advent calendar is the latest part of ‘BE in the Community’ story and follows a free printing service we did for parents and children during the pandemic, collection for food banks and our backing of Sponsored Breaks, the latter giving free breaks to people who need it most using a specially modified campervan.”
Ella Coleman, Sales Negotiator, has been one of the main organisers behind the campaign.
“This is the first time we’ve done it and I think everyone agrees that it has been an overwhelming success. It’s something we are all keen to replicate next year and maybe make it even bigger and better.”
Berriman Eaton, which is one of the West Midlands leading estate and letting agencies, has recently completed a £250,000 investment drive that has seen it establish a new Worcestershire office and embark on a recruitment campaign.
The company has used the funding boost to secure sustained growth in house sales and a lettings portfolio that has increased by 25% to 400 properties under management in the last twelve months.
