The Birmingham studio of multi-disciplinary design firm, rg+p Ltd has appointed a new associate director to lead its quantity surveying work in the West Midlands.

Andrew Frost MRICS has joined the team at Temple Street in the city, bringing over a decade of experience in the education, commercial and industrial sectors.

“rg+p’s QS and PM team is certainly known as a leader in its field so this role was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss,” explains Andrew. “As recently reported, the firm has significantly increased its work in the education sector but has also diversified its residential portfolio to include more high-rise buildings (HRBs) and refurbishment projects.

“These are sectors where I expect to see real tangible growth over the next 12-18 months which was another reason I wanted to make the move and be part of the team delivering homes, schools and colleges for the next generation,” adds Andrew.

In his new role, Andrew will oversee a strong QS team in Birmingham, which is currently working on educational schemes in Northampton and Notting Hill, residential schemes in the West Midlands and HRBs in Worcester, Solihull and Watford.

Andrew adds: “The QS team in Birmingham has been growing steadily since launching approximately 16 months ago and has secured several long-term schemes across the West Midlands. This increased workload, coupled with local and national framework successes, means we are already recruiting for experienced QS or project managers so it’s an exciting time!”

In addition to his new role, Andrew also acts as an RICS APC assessor, helping aspiring surveyors towards their professional qualification, and is a guest lecturer at Nottingham Trent University, where he lectures on the RICS APC.

rg+p’s QS/PM director, Mitch Dale comments: “Andrew has fitted in seamlessly with the team and is fast becoming a familiar face to many of our clients too. With extensive experience in key sectors and excellent mentoring skills, he was the ideal candidate, and we look forward to seeing his career thrive.”
