For just £1 per class, under 18s can use the incredible facilities at the new YMCA Community & Activity Village from now until 31st December, giving them access to the 5,000m2 site where they can socialise, try out new hobbies and learn new skills.
The YMCA’s £1 class offer is guaranteed until the end of 2022 and there is no limit to how many classes an individual can buy, giving young people across the region the opportunity to try some of the best equipment and facilities in Nottinghamshire, including a full programme to boost their physical and mental wellbeing.
£2 classes are also available for adults, and the limited-time deal is the YMCA’s gift to the local community, providing people with an affordable way to explore all the facilities, classes and wellbeing services the Village has to offer.
Todd Cauthorn, Executive Director, YMCA Newark & Sherwood, said: “As a youth charity we are putting young people first, giving them the lowest possible price for our classes. There’s not much that you can buy for £1 today, but here you can climb our Olympic-standard speed climbing wall, work out in our strength and conditioning gym, meet friends, learn a new skill, access our athletics tracks or try something new with a programme of classes including Tai Chi and drama.
“We know the cost of living crisis is a huge concern for local communities, but we also know the many mental and physical benefits that come from accessing facilities like ours. Every corner of the Village has been designed with the community in mind, where people of all ages can look after their health, nurture their wellbeing and gain a sense of belonging. We wanted to remove any financial barriers to give people the opportunity to experience this for themselves and spend time in a safe, warm space where they can socialise with others or simply enjoy some time to themselves.”
To redeem the offer, people should visit https://ymcanewarksherwood.org/1-classes and prebook their class. Demand is expected to be high and numbers will be limited each day, so the charity is advising to book early to avoid disappointment.
Membership packages are also now live, so those interested in joining the Village could use the £1 and £2 class offer to sample the facilities before committing to a monthly membership.
Proceeds from the offer will be invested back into the charity, enabling it to continue its vital work to improve the life chances of young and vulnerable people.
In addition, the nursery team are running free 90-minute ‘stay and play’ sessions every Friday morning, where parents can bring their children and enjoy a range of fun activities in the nursery, including messy play, arts and crafts and tours of the facilities.
Nursery leaders also host a free storytime session every Monday morning at 11am in the cafe, where a new book and themed activities are available for parents and young children to enjoy.
The new 5,000m2 YMCA Community & Activity Village in Newark began its phased opening earlier this year and has already had more than 11,000 bookings for its state-of-the-art facilities, which include an Ofsted registered nursery, a business zone, the region’s largest climbing wall, athletics tracks, football pitches and an education centre.
