BirminghamLive’s Pride of Birmingham Awards with TSB returns for 2023, to celebrate ordinary Brummies doing extraordinary things. The star-studded event – hosted by presenter and actress, Kym Marsh – will take place on 6 March 2023, at University of Birmingham’s Great Hall.

This year’s BirminghamLive’s Pride of Birmingham Awards with TSB will see winners of all ages and from all walks of life being celebrated for their awe-inspiring achievements; whether they have performed outstanding acts of courage, fought seemingly hopeless battles against the odds, displayed boundless compassion, or inspired everyone with their tireless campaigning for others.

This year’s heroes will be recognised in a number of categories, including Lifetime Achievement, Outstanding Contribution, Emergency Services Award, Special Recognition, Child of Courage, Spirit of Birmingham, and Triumph Over Adversity.

Past winners include Elizabeth Soffe, who was awarded with a ‘Child of Courage’ award for her bravery and fundraising efforts. Elizabeth suffered horrific burns as a baby and, as well as inspiring everyone she meets, she raised more than £200,000 to help other young burns victims. As part of her fundraising efforts, Elizabeth ran a mile a day for 26 days, including 73 laps of her garden during periods of isolation. To honour her bravery and fundraising efforts, Elizabeth also went on to win a Pride of Britain Award.

Other awe-inspiring winners from 2022 included an off-duty police officer who single-handedly tackled a knifeman; a woman who led the fight for justice after one of Britain’s worst medical scandals; a mum who campaigned for lifesaving bleed kits following the murder of her son; and a Birmingham-born lawyer who became one of the nation’s most powerful advocates for victims of abuse.
