A community-minded Evesham haulier is making a generous donation of vehicles and drivers to ensure the wheels of Worcester Carnival keep turning this weekend.

Marshall’s Transport is providing free transport and drivers for the city’s popular parade, which takes place this Saturday, July 6 with a theme of ‘celebrating our heritage’.
The company is providing transport for community organisations Beatbreakerz School of Dance, St John Ambulance and Lollipop Youth Theatre as part of its well-established support for the event.

It’s the fourth year the family-run firm has taken part in the carnival, which boasted more than 30 entries in 2023 including traditional lorry floats, walking and dancing groups, vintage cars, bicycles and hand-propelled carts.

Commercial director and owner, Brian Simpson, said: “There will be four of our drivers there, early start and late finish, to support the local community.

“It’s a fantastic event and one we’re proud to support. As a family-run firm, it’s really important to us to play an active role in our community on days like these.

“We also support the carnivals in Pershore and Evesham and we’re providing a free trailer for Freedom Fields Festival at The Farm Animal Sanctuary, which also takes place this weekend.

“We hope everyone who comes along to the carnival enjoys their day and the great British weather plays ball!”

The carnival parade starts at 3pm on Saturday, with performances on Cathedral Square from 11am to 3pm and a free carnival village on Pitchcroft from 11am to 7pm.
